Basic Course

This online training course is designed to teach how to assess and recognize foot health related problems and communicate effectively with other members of the health team.

Advanced Course

This online training course is designed to follow an advanced and diabetic nursing foot care curriculum. The theory part is offered online and provides the theoretical basis to nurses preparing to take the foot care nurse clinical, which provides in-person clinical skills experience. The course is completed through independent online studies and provides information, resources, and guidance for theory-based learning.

Basic foot care course
  • RN’s and RPN’s in good standing and provide proof of current RN/RPN Certificate of Competence
  • Proof of Personal Support Worker course
Advanced course
  • Must be a Registered Nurses or Registered Practical Nurse
  • RN’s and RPN’s in good standing and provide proof of current RN/RPN Certificate of Competence
  • Must have completed the basic foot care course
  • Must bring personal protective equipment and basic foot care tools
  • Proof of $3 million liability insurance

This course is completed through independent online studies and provides information, resources and guidance for theory-based learning. Students are expected to complete online reading/research from their computer. An 80% course average or higher is required to successfully complete the FCN theory, which is a prerequisite to start the clinical part.
